After touring a number of Assisted living facilities for my mom and dad we visited The Woodmark in Sun City Az. Instantly it had a good vibe. Clean ,well lit, friendly residents and friendly staff. Jordan, our tour guide was absolutely wonderful. Welcoming , friendly yet very professional. She answered all of my questions and concerns and yet to this day gets back to me at her soonest opportunity. Some residential homes have a great sales pitch and then feel abandoned once they have your business. Not The Woodmark! I know my parent's are in good hands with assistance with medication distribution,in house doctor visits, nutritious meals and transportation for trips to different stores. They'll also transport the residents to doctor appointments. There is always some activity going on in conjunction with mental and physical health. A shout out to Erin in the financial department who resolved a situation without difficulty and for addressing it promptly. I definitely recommend The Woodmark in Sun City Az !
This place is terrible. My mom is still in this facility, and honestly, I am afraid to speak up because I worry they might treat her even worse if they find out who wrote this.
My mom has been neglected multiple times. There are many occasions where no staff comes to check on her, and she is often left soaked, dirty, and unattended for long periods of time.
One time, I asked Cynthia/Cindy for help assisting my mom, and she refused. She told me, “I’m passing medication, I’ll call a caregiver for you.” I waited for help to arrive. She wasn’t passing her meds she was just on her mobile phone. After a good 5 minutes the caregiver was finally changing my mom, I briefly went down to my car. During that time, I saw Cynthia/Cindy — who claimed she was too busy passing medications. She wasn’t. She is outside smoking with another med tech named Julie.
This is not the first time I’ve seen them outside smoking together. I’ve witnessed it multiple times while residents are left waiting.
I am extremely disappointed and upset. People who are unwilling to provide compassionate care should not be working in this kind of environment. Residents deserve dignity, attention, and proper care.
I am very unsatisfied with these two employees and concerned about the overall management as well. I honestly do not understand what management sees in them or why this behavior continues to be tolerated.
I would strongly caution families before placing their loved ones here. The only reason my mom remains is because she has already built friendships within the community.
I have been with Woodmark a year and a half. I absolutely love it, we have so many activities through out the week, that are so much fun and very inclusive. The marketing girls have done an excellent job in bringing in new friends. As an ambassador I am one of the first people our new residents meet when the first arrive! I am proud to have such an amazing community to live at, and be able to have the best experiences.
Was referred to Memory Care at The Woodmark by A Place for Mom in a rush to get my FIL to a safe place where he’d be happy and well taken care of. That was in February, and so far it’s been great! He seems to have acclimated well, he’s happy, and the staff is wonderful! The director Andrea is always responsive, they have a lot of activities for the residents, and it’s secure. It’s been a big weight off my shoulders knowing that he’s in a place that he will be happy, safe, and well taken care of! A+!
Called in for options for our great grandmother. Jordan was so professional, caring, and I can tell she genuinely wanted to find a spot for us. Thank you for showing some grace during this time as we navigate this new journey.
