I can’t speak well enough about Ocotillo Place! Our family had to make the difficult decision to put my mom into an assisted living facility. We searched all through out the Phoenix Valley for a good place for our mom. We found Ocotillo Place to be the cleanest place with the friendliest staff. They even let us come in and paint her room and decorate it just like likes it. She has been there now for 5 months and it was the best decision! The staff treats her so lovingly and like family! They take such good care of her and are so communicative with us to let us know if there is anything she is needing or if they are seeing changes in her we should be aware of. When we have a concern they respond immediately! She is receiving care all day long that we were just not able to give. We as a family visit her nearly daily and we feel so blessed to have found Ocotillo Place!
Staff who takes care of my grandmother are attentive. The food is not fit for a homeless person to eat much less a resident in hospice like my grandmother. My grandmother has been a tenant here at ocotillo since March 14th 2022. The food it’s disgusting and often times I have to bring her food so she can eat. I sign in and can be seen on camera going through the front lobby most visits to buy her food. Not understanding why those who make decisions for ocotillo will budget for the exterior to be repainted yet the food going into tenants is literally DISGUSTING. I will start a tik tok account to post “what tripe did ocotillo assisted living serve to people today?” I’m delighted for owners of this place to come on over and sit with us in dining room or join my grandmother June any meal any day of the week to feast on the tasteless mush they expect her to eat. The state needs to know how inadequate the food here is for nutritional needs. Should probly report to authorities. Anyone looking to place loved one in care here needs to know how awful the food here is day to day. Despite meetings, pleas, suggestions with residents the quality of food is poor. I was served a glass of spoiled milk last year and could speak up. It’s possible your loved one cannot. I cannot stress enough how it feels shady and underhanded that money for the food here is being misappropriated. That’s fraud. That’s ocotillo. Anyone want to come find me, Sherene and eat with my grandma and talk with me- I’m June’s granddaughter in room 162. Vineyard Park officials you heartless penny pinching skimps are more than welcome to dine on swill served to the tenants here to experience how food that’s too burnt, tasteless, expired, still frozen in the middle chicken nuggets, P and J sandwich with no peanut butter served to all watered down diluted juice, straight from a can vegetables filled with sodium no nutritional value- I could go on and on but PLEASE someone call the authorities as OCOTILLO PLACE is not up to code on quality of food or the way food is prepared. The people who own this place - come live and dine here for just a week.
Today we moved my
Mother in law from assisted living to memory care. The transition went very smoothly due to Patty, the director. Patty was so kind, reassuring and Jay moved all the heavy stuff and Shana took out all the garbage. We have worked with Patty for over 5 years and she is so supportive and such an advocate for my husband and I. She goes the extra mile with communication and always takes time with my husband, who is the POA. I am a retired nurse and have worked in over 100 assisted living facilities as a wound care nurse. I have never met such a caring, kind, and supportive director. She knows all of the patients names and gives hugs as we walk the hallway. I have talked with the staff and asked how long they have been working at Ocotillo Place and most said a few months to a few years and they stay because of Patty. She goes the extra mile and we love her and grateful she is there for my mother in law. Brenda Mallory
My family and I are so grateful for the dedication of Patty Soper and her team. From the moment my mother arrived at the facility, Patty has guided us in establishing her care. It’s clear that Patty is truly dedicated to her residents.
Poorly managed, disorganized. On many days residents get medications and meals with unexceptable delays. Onsite leadership is a mess, executive office looks like a bomb went off. General cleanliness of the facility is poor. Staff are unhappy and vocal.
I moved my mother out after 9 months, all the staff said it was the right move "because the care here is poor".
Great location someone needs to take control and clean house before the state closes this facility down.
