Horrible experience, my mother needed a walker to get back and forth to the restroom and they told me she couldn't get one until she saw the PT. She fell twice in one night and no one called me or my family to let us know. When I got there the next morning, her bed was literally on the floor and she was unable to get up. I raised her up from the floor and her depends just fell right off her, she had to have peed at least 3 times. My mom was there for 10 hours until I discharged her, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I wished I could leave a comment without putting any stars. I do not reccomend this place and if you love your elderly family members, you will reconsider sending them here. Pay attention to these 1 star reviews here. My biggest mistake was not checking out the reviews to this place first. My mother was transferred here from a nearby hospital after being treated for a leg infection. It was suggested that she go for physical therapy so her legs could get stronger. The doctor at the hospital said it was a good place plus it was close by... so her opinion made me feel at ease. As soon as my Mom was transferred to this place, I anxiously & immediately went there so I could judge for myself. The moment I headed to the room my Mom was in, my at ease feeling went out the window. The room was depressing, she shared a room with another patient (the shared room wasn't the problem), it was the far from compassionate nurse along with 3 of her rough handling assistants attending my mother that was the problem. They ask me to go outside the room briefly I believe to give her a check up. Shortly after I went out of her room, I heard my Mom crying out in agonizing pain. Sadly, for my Mom, they weren't focus on that, but more focused on adjusting her in the bed ( which was roughly). My Mom said she felt one of the ladies's nails in her skin. I rushed in the room after that and didn't let them proceed. The nurse( who I didn't like) said in therapy you're going to feel pain as if the way they were treating her was justifiable. The best thing I did was to stay by my Mom's side until she was out of that place which was the very same day. My Mom is now happy, she eating good, sleeping good and she has 24 hour care, and she's getting around on her walker at home. I thank God for this. Note: I would also like to add, despite how displeased I was with the nurse at first, she did see to it that my Mom had transportation home that night & she showed more kindness. Whether it was fake or not, my Mom appreciated that much of it.

My loved one spent 3 days at Bishop Spencer Place. Almost died. He recieved zero nursing care while wearing a cathter that did not work. He was shoved by a worker. The food is not edible. The nurse was a liar when the paramedics arrived - that I called. SHAMEFUL. INHUMANE.

*Night shift is disgraceful * Need meds? Plan on waiting until the next day. * Need a doctor? Only get sick on the 2 days a week they see patients. * Filing complaints with the director of nursing does nothing Make sure you have a family or friend that can advocate for you at this place, especially the “skilled” nursing unit. The PT/OT was decent, that’s about the only positive at this place.

The head people really need to check on their nurses and tech. They take a long time to see about their patients. They act like they don't care about the patients. They sit up around the front desk just talking. If I could I would pull my mother out of here. PT and OT are the best. They say this the number place to be. I can't tell. I know it's a nurses shortage, that would make want to do better. They leave the some patients in the bed all day. How would they like for this to happen to their mother, father or anybody in their family. May God be with this place, the patients and staff.
