I was there for over a year. Wheelchair user. I laid in bed all that time. I only got out if bed is when I had to be admitted to the hospital. No one would get me out of bed there. First month I was there my wallet was found in the parking lot. I had it on a table right next to my bed.
Went months without a shower or my hair washed. Just an occasional bed bath. wheelchair would not fit in the bathroom to easily get to the shower. No one looked for a solution.
While a stay at the hospital someone went i to my apartment and removed my laz boy recliner without my permission. No one would say where it went. I reported to police. Nothing was done by police but I have a police number on file.
I would not recommend this place to anyone
My review is based solely upon the lack of care, nor compassion, the driver for this care center has for any other handicapped or disabled members of our community. To ILLEGALLY take up 3 handicapped parking spaces is absolutely selfish and shows how entitled people believe they are. My mother has been in and out of the hospital for over a year. To be blessed to go out to lunch and have her inconvenienced by the rudeness of your driver was beyond disappointing!
I've been looking for a senior living for my mother but I have heard stories on how people get treated. But when I was at the Art Exhibit in downtown Mesa and seen a lady with her patient's. And just the way she interacted with her patients and how they seem to just love her. It made my heart melt! ❤ It took me back like we need more Care takers like her in this world! That is the type of place I would love to take my mother too! And that's the exact type of person i want taking care of my mother! So thought I'd just say this because people like Natalie need to be appreciated for the work they do!
Absolutely a wonderful place. I searched the gauntlet of care facilities in the Meas area and none were as nice and reasonably priced, as Avista. Great staff, great location, great food and a wonderful caring feeling that just hugs you all over! Special thanks to Stacy Z Executive Director, Adam C Plant Operations Director and all the other staff at the facility. Thanks for making my Dad feel so warm and welcome in his time of need. You are ALL very wonderful!
I have been a resident here for 4 years. I have known the Activities Director and grown very close with her. She plans WONDERFUL activities for us to do in the room and out of our community. We have had a chance to go to museums and restaurants and cruising on Canyon Lake together! Many of us have powerchairs, wheelchairs, and are blind or just getting old! She cares for us like she loves us very much and we are family. We even have Thanksgiving dinner together, family style. Every Monday we sing and dance to our entertainers that she brings in! She looks after our health still, because she used to do our medicine. She cares for us like a mother, but we all consider her a daughter and a friend. What a blessing!
