The NTC surpassed all of our expectations. Exceptional therapists, caring coaches, and a top notch professional case manager and care team made my daughter's stay very beneficial. Her improvement from acceptance to discharge was more than we could have hoped for. If the NTC is an option for you or your loved one's care, don't hesitate to go. The absolute best!
As a survivor of a hemorrhagic stroke, I was told by the hospital that I would most likely never walk again.
I entered the NTC and stayed for 100 days. They provide what I call truly holistic healing—from healthy, fresh-cooked meals every day to six hours of therapy split between physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Each morning, our small group of fewer than 12 patients would meet after coffee and breakfast. We talked about our highs and lows, our goals for the day, and were given a schedule, almost like high school, showing where we needed to be each hour.
The therapists are top-notch, but what really made the difference was that they made the day fun. It never felt like a long, exhausting day of therapy.
My goal was to walk out of there. And I did. I actually danced my way out, albeit with a cane!
Every person dealing with a neurological injury should have the opportunity to attend a place like the NTC, or somewhere similar.
My insurance company only allowed me a one-month hospital stay after brain surgery and was ready to send me home alone. At that point, I couldn’t even stand on my own, let alone live by myself. The NTC worked incredibly hard to help me reach my goals, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
And surprisingly, my insurance covered my stay there. So don’t count it out because you think it might be too expensive. It’s worth looking into.
I felt more “normal” at the NTC than I had anywhere else since my stroke. They also encouraged us to do the things we loved before our injuries. For me, that was baking. The ladies working there would help me bake cakes and cookies, which made me feel like myself again.
The NTC also helped me keep up with my doctor’s appointments, including transportation to and from them.
We even had outings—to the movies, golfing, for coffee and donuts, and trips to the grocery store. All of those things were part of our daily therapy. It wasn’t just about learning how to walk again. It was about learning how to live again.
My room was private, and so was my roll-in shower.
Looking back, the NTC gave me something I desperately needed after my stroke: hope. They didn’t just see what I couldn’t do. They helped me focus on what I could do—and then pushed me to do a little more every day.
I’ve had an excellent experience at NTC! Everything I’ve done here has been absolutely amazing for me and my mental health, not to mention my physical health. All of them have been great and helpful, all of the staff has been very supportive and nice, and I simply couldn’t have asked for a better place to go. 10/10, would absolutely recommend it for anyone needing a place to go and heal.
NTC is a first class facility. I was transferred to the NTC from a Hospial Rehab Facility. I was a little nervous at first because it was an hour from my nearest family. I had had a stroke and it affected my vision, talking, swallowing and walking. The Therapist and the rest of the staff quickly helped me feel at home and gave me the help I needed. After weeks and six hours of rigorous therapy, I left there swallowing, walking and improvement with my sight. NTC became not just a rehabilitation facility, it also became a family. If you or someone you know has suffered from a stroke or a brain injury don’t think twice. Contact them. They can help you have a life after your injury.
