Benjamin and his caregivers have been extremely patient during my moms transition. She had a hard time adjusting and accepting her circumstances going forward. They have worked together with hospice to make the best of her situation. The home is very warm, inviting and always spotless!
Oasis is the most ideal place to care for your loved one. All of the staff are earthly angels that have compassion and love for all of their patients. The home is immaculate, and the care is first class. My mother was loved, bathed, taken care of just as if she was in my home. Ben is wonderful and steps in to help. I’m so glad my mom’s last memories were full of love.
My Mother has been at Oasis at Norterra since February 2023. She was one of the first residents at the newly remodeled home. First, the home is beautifully designed to provide the residents with privacy, and safety. It is light, bright and airy. There is a lovely backyard with a courtyard where the residents can get fresh air and sunshine. The home has the ability to care for, up to, ten residents at a time. The owner, Ben, and staff of three are capable, responsive and caring.
My Mother has A.L.S. and was moved from a senior living community into Oasis. As her disease progressed, the previous setting could no longer care for, or accommodate her needs. They would not use a hoyer lift, help get her in and out of bed, could not pick her up if she fell, and the charges kept going higher and higher. I spent a great deal of time researching and visiting several care homes. It is overwhelming. When I met with Ben and toured Oasis, I knew this is where my Mom should be.
The staff keep the home and the residents room exceptionally clean, and cook delicious/nutritional meals. The staff is able to accommodate the needs of residents, each with varying levels of capacity. Other than A.L.S., my Mother is very healthy, and has a sharp mind. She is in an electric wheelchair and paralyzed from the waist down. The staff is able to adjust the level of care given, as the disease progresses. They are skilled in using the hoyer lift, transfers, showers, etc. I know my Mother is in the best of hands.
There are activities and entertainment on a regular basis, which breaks up the day and the residents enjoy it. Ben will sometimes grill, and brings in take-out just to change things up!
When we go to my Mother's regular A.L.S. Clinic appointments at Barrow's, she continually tells the doctor's and specialists how good Oasis and the staff are. You'd think she was part of a commercial for Oasis. LOL!
Finally, Ben has been so helpful in navigating my Mother's needs as this insidious disease steals her independence away. He has advocated for her with a previous medical provider who was severely lacking in the fundamentals of A.L.S. and its symptoms. Ben has personally arranged my Mother's medications to be delivered, and interfaces with her primary care provider and skilled nursing care that see my Mother on a regular basis, always keeping me informed.
Accordingly, I highly recommend the Oasis at Norterra without hesitation.
We recently placed my mom at Oasis at Norterra. I cannot say enough good things about Benjamin and his staff. Everyone is friendly and caring. Her new home is beautiful and spotless. She has her own well equipped room with special touches from home. The home offers three meals a day, activities and music Mondays! Benjamin keeps us up to date on how my mom is feeling and will let us know if there are any concerns. We could not have picked a better place!
Ben and the staff have been amazing to my father, always kind, compassionate, and patient despite the severity of his Alzheimer’s. It’s difficult finding people in this area of healthcare who are good caregivers so we feel blessed having found this home for my father. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe and clean care home.
