I recently toured this independent living community and was absolutely impressed! The staff and residents were incredibly welcoming, and the community felt warm, friendly, and full of life. The apartments, amenities, and beautiful surroundings made me feel right at home.
One of the best parts is that my dog can come with me, which means the world to me. After seeing everything firsthand, I am even more excited about this next chapter and cannot wait to move in with my dog and become part of such a wonderful community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and vibrant place to call home!
After 40 years in my own house, I honestly didn't think anywhere else could feel like home. Then I moved to New Perspective in Weldon Spring.
I was so nervous about moving to assisted living. My daughter and I looked at a few places around Weldon Spring, O'Fallon, and St. Charles, but this one just felt different the second I walked in. Warm. Calm. Like people actually wanted me here.
And they did. The other residents took me right in. I've already made such sweet friends - we have our morning coffee together, we do the activities, we just sit and talk and laugh. I don't feel alone anymore.
The staff here... I can't say enough about them. They are so kind and caring, and they check on you like family. They helped make my little apartment so cozy and comfortable.
If your family is starting to look at senior living or memory care around Weldon Spring or O'Fallon, please go tour New Perspective. It gave me my happiness back. I feel blessed to be here.
This is a beautiful place to see but….. when you arrive as with all facilities you see independent or assisted living areas. Lovely. Their meals are like a restaurant with a lovely presentation. Their happy hour provided on Fridays are nice with normal sized glasses of wine n beer and snacks in a cute bistro type area BUT if you have a loved one in Memory Care you do not see these lovely amenities. Their happy hour is a dixie cup of soda and a shared lunch bag of chips right before dinner. They are provided a meal of the kitchens choosing which is rolled in and served without any thought. Many times meat uncut Knives are not provided. Drinks are filled but rarely refilled. After much protest it does happen at times. Unlike the independents and assisted living residents the memory care crowd is not provided a choice in food. They just sit and look at look their food if they dont like it. But who cares since they don’t remember. Right?! Many of these residents are to be offered or checked every 2 hours regarding using the bathroom This is not something that is routinely done. Some caregivers do try but they get burned out because their coworkers are busy eating or on their phones It is a physical job and I can see becoming fatigued but it is their job. It is a sad area to those of us who are there and see the everyday. Management always has lofty goals that happen for maybe a few weeks to go back to the old sad normal.
I haven’t even touched on the laundry scenarios. Night shift either throws clothes n linens away are doesnt even look at the name tags on the items and just put them in various rooms if the laundry even makes it out of the laundry area. But it is hard to do laundry when this facility put stackable washer n dryer apartment units in I could go on and on as this is just a snippet of what happens or better said “doesn’t happen”.
Again this is a lovely looking place But something or someone can look pretty only to be hiding the ugly
The state of Missouri inspects and thats a joke. They measure the temperature of soup They do not address the important things. Maybe come at night and see residents put to bed in their clothes and all the other things that happen. Staffing is always great when state is there. But then it changes after. Unfortunately many of those hired are not committed to patient care but is that also a reflection of how management feels as well….??
My mom moved in a couple of months ago and has had a great experience so far. The staff are very nice, the food is excellent, and best of all my mom has a social life again. The residents are so friendly!
This Facility has been very stressful for my family my grandmother is a resident of the assisted living community she have been here a few months an it’s been nothing but bad for her she says in the daytime she has been disrespected by caregivers we pay a lot of money for her to stay here with the best care plan my grandmother do not like pulling her call light because she think they are going to be rude she says at night she has some nice caregivers who help her out with what ever she needs an we are very grateful for them I wish her day team was like her night
